TOPPAS Maintenance

Service for the TOPPAS Autobelay is due once a year.
You can find the due inspection date on the device, the grip sleeve, or your inspection report.
If TOPPAS is used very frequently, a shorter inspection interval is recommended. As a rule, we will inform you of this.

You can find the current price of our TOPPAS maintenance flat rate in the price list or in the shop.
We make every effort to keep maintenance costs low and, above all, transparent.
The flat rate includes replacing the rope, including inspection and cleaning of all spare parts, as well as reassembly and final inspection of TOPPAS.
As a rule, it remains at this flat rate.
After years of use, individual wear parts such as bearings, springs, etc. may need to be replaced. However, as a rule, the costs remain reasonable over the long term.
The flat rate does not include shipping costs. You can find these in our price list.

Maintenance of TOPPAS devices is carried out by us.
For customers in Switzerland, we have a licensed partner who carries out the inspection. You are welcome to request the contact details from us.

Yes, we will send it to you by email.

After we receive the devices, the service takes 1–4 business days, depending on the quantity.
If you require service on a specific date, please arrange this with us in advance.

You have several options for getting TOPPAS to us.

  1. Come by in person. You can bring TOPPAS to us and arrange a maintenance appointment in advance. You can take the devices back with you the same day and put them back into use immediately. Please allow approx. 1.5 hours of service time per device.  
  2. You send the device with the courier of your choice. For shipping, use the TOPPAS transport case or a suitable cardboard box. Make sure to use enough padding to avoid transport damage. You do not need to put anything else in the case or box. We have all devices on file with billing and delivery address details.
  3. We collect the devices from you. We offer a collection service together with our shipping partner DPD. Collection throughout Europe is possible. You will find the price list attached. Simply send us an email or WhatsApp message for collection and we will take care of it. Please provide the collection address and preferred date, as well as the number of devices.

Yes, we also ship pallets or mesh boxes and are also happy to have the goods collected from you.

We can provide on-site service.
In addition to the service flat rate, the usual additional costs apply (travel, duration, overnight stay, etc.).

We offer replacement units; however, this service is not free of charge.
Replacement units only make sense to compensate for longer downtime. Since TOPPAS is only sent in once a year and the service time is very short, we recommend not using a replacement unit due to the short downtime.
Especially since the device then only needs to be taken down and rehung once.

TOPPAS is first checked for external damage or irregularities.
We then completely disassemble TOPPAS, inspect and clean all components. Wear parts that are no longer functional are replaced.
The old steel cable is removed and replaced with a new cable including carabiner.
At the end of the inspection, a final test is carried out, which is completed by applying the inspection stickers to the device and grip sleeve.

Most customers with high ropes courses send us the devices outside their season, during the winter period.
As a rule, we ship them back by the end of February or early March at the latest, so that nothing stands in the way of the start of your season.
If it is needed earlier, please let us know separately.

TOPPAS

TOPPAS Autobelay can be installed both indoors and outdoors. For outdoor use, it is only necessary to fit a protective cover, which you can find in our shop.
TOPPAS can be found in climbing gyms as well as forest rope parks. Its use is versatile. You will find all necessary requirements for installing and using TOPPAS in our operating instructions.

TOPPAS may be installed at a maximum height of 20 m.
There is no lower limit.

Yes, outdoor use is possible without any concerns. You only need to fit a weather protection cover to TOPPAS.
Installation is carried out either by us or by you. Installation is very straightforward.
You can find the weather protection cover in our shop.

TOPPAS has been on the market for more than 30 years and is one of the safest devices.
With its solid, robust design and full repairability, it proves its high standard year after year.
TOPPAS also features a second redundant braking system that provides additional safety.

TOPPAS is one of the few systems that have had a second braking system installed from the very beginning.
It works redundantly, i.e., downstream, and engages if the first brake fails, bringing the person to a stop. To continue lowering, the person only needs to briefly unload the system and can then continue the descent process.

The person may weigh between 20 and 130 kg.
We are currently renewing the certification and have adjusted the weight range to 10 to 150 kg.
However, this will only apply once the standard has been passed and will be announced here.

The device retracts at approx. 0.5 m/s and lowers at approx. 1.1–1.4 m/s.
It is not suitable for speed climbing!

The device complies with the currently valid standard under PPE Regulation 2016/425, Module B
DIN EN341-1A:2011 / DINE EN360:2002 and RFU 11.128

Buying TOPPAS

For the final installment, you must always enter 5%. This describes the last installment you must pay to buy out TOPPAS. You do not want to buy out the device at all? No problem. We guarantee that you will not have to pay the final installment, and we will buy back TOPPAS at a fair price.

Please note that leasing is currently only available in Germany.

Yes, we have numerous dealers who offer our product. This is particularly useful in combination with building a climbing gym, climbing wall, or high ropes course.

Shipping costs vary within Europe. We ship our goods with DPD.
Attached you will find a price list with the currently valid shipping costs for shipping in a TOPPAS transport case.
